March of Life Movement honored by Israeli Knesset

In 2011 and 2015, the Israeli Knesset honored the March of Life Movement for its special efforts and support of Holocaust survivors. Sunday, May 10, 2015, marked 70 years after the end of WWII and 50 years of Israeli-German relations. This was also the day of the presentation of the Award to the organizers of the different Marches of Life at the March of Life Berlin.

The March of Life in Berlin so far crowns several hundreds of Marches of Life all over Germany and worldwide since the beginning of the movement. Next to organizers from across Germany, representatives from Austria, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Peru, the Ukraine, and the United States had made the journey. Holocaust survivor and president of the Israeli Association of Concentration Camp and Ghetto Survivors, Gita Koifman, presented the awards on the behalf of the Israeli Knesset at the official reception ceremony.
